When I began the Isolation Grow blog in 2020, I was trying to do something helpful and free for people after the pandemic hit. We were all stuck inside, we were all isolated and frustrated, and my hope was to give folks something positive to do while we hid from Covid.
It was also an election year, and my intention was to write a blog about growing outdoors that wasn’t political. I felt like everyone needed a break, someplace to go where they didn’t get bombarded with political rhetoric on either side of the fence.
I encouraged people to vote. I ended every blog with “Survive and Vote.”
I did the same thing in 2024.
I did not hide who I voted for, but I purposefully avoided political rhetoric. I have received questions from growers on both sides of the political fence. I have attempted to help everyone, without hesitation. For free.
Since then, I have continued my blog with much the same intent. Keep the focus on growing, not the upheaval in our country. That changed last week.
I can’t be passive anymore. Events in Minnesota and elsewhere have made this impossible to ignore. I am pissed. I’ve already told you that because I’m writing my 4th novel I’m not blogging as much this year. And that’s what I’m trying to do, write in much the same fashion as I always have. Yes, current events make creative writing very challenging.
Today, I need to clear the air. My country has gone to absolute hell and I’m sick of it.
Our President is a convicted felon, and he is the worst President of my 68 years. Worse, this lazy, lying shell of a supposed man does absolutely nothing to help anyone but himself. He never does anything to help Americans, he only hurts us. Look at the stupid tariffs.
Trump and his corrupt administration are killing peacefully protesting American citizens and lying about it. They are attempting to bully us into bending the knee to the most corrupt administration in American history.
It is never going to happen. Fuck Trump and his idiot minions.
History is pockmarked with the bodies and egos of tyrants. Men with such exaggerated senses of self worth that they thought they could rule the world, or otherwise be “strong men.”
Trump is a vile coward and he’s deep into his dementia. He does not look like someone who is going to be around very long, and the sooner he’s gone, the better. The greatest thing Trump will ever do for America and the entire world is go away. The same thing can be said for Steven Miller and the entire administration. Go away. You blew it.
In my life, before Trump, the worst president was Nixon. The biggest mistake America ever made was not prosecuting Nixon for his crimes. Trump may or may not live long enough to survive his presidency, but when this ends, every single member of this corrupt regime must be brought to justice. No exceptions.
Another thing–release the damn Epstein files unredacted. We need to know who all the sick people are. The only way to deal with systemic rot is to fully expose it to the light of day. I don’t care if people are on the left or right politically. If you sexually harmed a child, if you helped traffic children for the purposes of sex, if you knew what was going on and said or did nothing, you are complicit and you should be exposed. In other words: Trump. There are no pedophile heroes.
I can no longer sit and be silent while my country is hijacked by sick, corrupt assholes. Sorry if you don’t like the tone of this, I truly don’t care, do you? Sorry if you’re maga and this is a slap in the face. You need something to wake you up. You are blowing it badly.
A truly evil and stupid man is running America. He is surrounded by likewise truly evil and stupid people. They are adored by a pathetic cult, which is mercifully growing smaller by the day.
The rest of us outnumber them about 2-1 these days.
I am ready to join protests. I am ready to join a national strike. Do we need to get about 80 million people to march on Washington and Maralago if necessary? I am for whatever is needed to remove this corrupt administration and restore our nation.
Sorry if this blog isn’t what you expected or wanted. But I no longer live in a country that I recognize, and we’ve got some serious work to do. I’m too damn angry not to comment on this anymore. Just in case any of you were wondering where I stand on what we’re going through, especially those of you outside of the United States, know that as an American citizen, even though I did not vote for Trump ever, it is still my responsibility to be an active part of the solution. It is my responsibility as a citizen to resist. It is my responsibility as a human to model the behavior I wish others to model.
It is time to stand up and be counted. I stand against Trump and maga. You had your chance and you’ve blown it. The tide is turning.
What can we do? Contact and donate to the organizations you want to support. Flood members of the House of Representatives and Senate with your feelings. Doesn’t matter if they are Republicans or Democrats. Bombard them with your feelings. I am exclusively leaving messages for Republican leaders right now. They need to find their sense of survival, because the wave is coming. This is why so many are resigning.
In approximately 280 days, there will be midterm elections. Lots of trolls out there proclaim that Trump will stop the 2026 midterms. But the president doesn’t have that authority. If he did, he would have already. He cannot issue an executive order or declare national Marshall Law and then end elections. Each and every state controls their own elections. We have never NOT had an election in our country. We even had them during World War 2 and the Civil War. So don’t let the rhetoric scare you. There will be midterms and we all need to vote. That is the legal way to end this nightmare.
Educate yourselves about the role AI and deepfakes might play in the midterms. We all need to understand how to discern real from fake. The right is already posting more AI Trump than real Trump, because he’s so far gone into his dementia.
Take a break, a long break from social media. It is full of misinformation, absolute and utter bullshit.
Hold your media sources accountable. Don’t let anyone normalize what is happening now. Be clear. We (the people) are fighting our own corrupt government.
So . . . for the year ahead, there will be about one blog a month through harvest as I dry grow every plant for the first time.
And through all of it, I will continue writing my 4th novel.
But make no mistake, it’s time to stand up and be heard, peacefully resist, but fight if necessary against the most corrupt administration and president that I’ve ever seen. Inform yourself. Educate yourself. Know your rights. We will prevail.

I don’t want my tax dollars going to harassing, attacking, and killing innocent people, including protesters and legal observers. You need to make sure that ICE doesn’t get another penny. It is out of control, and I will be watching how you vote. How you vote will determine how I vote at the polls.”
